fleetSAFE+

fleetSAFE+ provides protection against premature engine failures caused by overheating, loss of engine oil pressure and unnecessary wear and tear caused by over-revving and excessive speed.

• The fleetSAFE+ system employs anti-tamper circuitry and is calibrated by an external programmer, thus hampering any attempts by unqualified personnel to disconnect or render the system inoperative, affording the user optimum protection.

• Additional safety features have been included when fitting the system to on-highway and off-highway vehicles.

• Audio warning to alert the operator of a pending engine shutdown.

• 5 minute or total lock-out until reset, after 3 consecutive identical engine shutdowns.

• System self checks on initiation of engine start for tampering on all circuits, prohibiting engine start-up if tampering detected.

• System constantly monitors all sensor inputs. Should an abnormal condition occur that exceeds 5 seconds an alarm will be activated to alert the operator.

• Monitors engine metal temperature – can be used on air cooled motors.

• Oil pressure is monitored via two independent switches offering improved protection throughout the engine’s operating range.

• Provided start signal (‘W’ terminal) is sourced from the alternator, in the event that an alternator drive belt breaks the engine will be shut down, affording greater protection for liquid cooled motors.

• Simultaneous and independent management of engine RPM and vehicle speed.

• Excessive idle restriction preset to three minutes, programmable to either ON or OFF.

• Independent calibration of warning and cut-off levels for RPM speed.

• In the event that an unsafe parameter is reached that is within the scope of either the engine protection system or rev, speed and idle limiter, fleetSAFE+ will automatically reduce engine speed via the accelerator pedal to correct the fault.

• Should the unsafe condition be within the scope of the engine protection system, an audio and visual warning will be initiated, the accelerator pedal will be re-positioned to idle engine speed.

• The engine will be brought to rest after the vehicle is stationary.

• Hazard lights can be activated to further enhance passengers’ and other road users’ safety.

• Memory recall for last event greatly assists the technician attending to the breakdown to quickly and efficiently identify the cause of the shutdown.

• The system can be over-ridden for one trip only provided it is considered safe to do so.

• The system memory can be downloaded to a laptop by an authorized person. This information is valuable when investigating a recurring problem.
